We take pride in bringing our own families to our exhibits, so our design, fabrication, and installation must be to the highest standards. We don’t run a plug-and-play assembly line. We are looking for high-achieving, problem-solving, creative painters, craftspeople & fabrication professionals.

The Opportunity:

As the Production Manager, you are responsible for building and maintaining a team environment by instilling 1220 Core Values throughout the Production Department. You will own whatever is required to maintain optimal production flow. You’ll meet internal milestone dates & shipping dates to ensure customer satisfaction. You’ll ensure that only top-quality work leaves our facility. You’ll coordinate the training & enforcement of SOPs for safety and production processes. You’ll make recommendations to company leadership in regards to staffing, capital, and process improvement. You’ll act as a leader, advocating for and representing our valued contributors within the Production Department. You’ll own the day to day operations of the production facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and managing of production labor resources to meet budgets, deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Meeting with estimators and providing forecasted labor hours and techniques required for bidding on estimates ($50k+).
  • Strategizing with Project Management, Team Leaders, and Department Managers to develop the above numbers and to ensure that we meet or beat the contracted labor hours on all projects.
  • Proactively communicating with management and all Departments on daily operations of the production facility, summarizing the information and identifying trends and needs.
  • Evaluating, training, and mentoring individuals in each area of Production to assure positive results. Challenging employees to achieve high levels of production speed and efficiency. Conducting formal written evaluations with employees at least once per year.
  • Ensuring the quality of our product via education and attention of all supervised personnel. Improving your own skills and 1220’s knowledge base by seeking information and education in current trends, practices, techniques and technology.
  • Coordinating in educating production personnel in safety procedures, proper machinery, operations, company policies, and quality requirements.
  • Recruiting and hiring of new production employees with an eye to upgrade and increase the range of 1220’s production capabilities.
  • Forecasting and budgeting for department via Weekly Production Workload Report and other modes of communication.
  • Ensuring a safe workplace environment in accordance with local and national safety guidelines.
  • Leading by example. Taking ownership of your staff and deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Operations.

Direct Reports:

In this role, you’d assume immediate managerial responsibilities for the Purchasing Manager, Production Assistant, Department Managers, Team Leads & Fabricators.


  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years custom fabrication experience in a shop environment (or similar)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, and other project management software
  • Familiarity with assembling metal structures (i.e., aluminum, steel, etc.) (or similar)
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Solid organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, and strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Act standards and regulations
  • Available to work overtime and weekends, as required
  • This position requires occasional travel to supervise and/or evaluate our installation performance at jobsites

Job Location:

This position is 40hr/week, onsite at 1220 Exhibits HQ in Nashville, TN. We’re not open to remote or hybrid work, but we are willing to provide a relocation package for the right candidate if they do not currently reside in the Nashville area.
