1220 is in the midst of completing a project at the Do Seum in San Antonio, Texas that is sure to delight and inspire all who visit. This project really makes me want to be a kid again.
The coolest feature we had the pleasure of working on was a lighting and sound system that can change the theme of the environment. At any point, the museum staff can select either a “blue”, “green” or “red” theme, triggering several exhibits to switch to an underwater grotto, forest glen of jewel-lined cave setting. One of our interactive specialists, Lucas, programmed projectors to fill the space with thematic images and fanciful additions like shooting stars and bubbles. BrightSign audio players change programs to compliment and complete the immersive experience.
1220 coordinated with the lighting designer and a DMX programmer to trigger the effects on cue and to train the museum staff on the operation of their system.
This is part of the Do Seum’s Fantasy Storymaking area enabling children to act out their own stories with friends and parents. Our hope is children spend hours playing and come back to act out additional stories. I wish there was something like this when I was growing up, but seeing the smiling faces of children makes up for it.
