Redefining Exhibit Fabrication: A Reintroduction to 1220 Exhibits

In honor of a big year ahead and many new faces around here, allow us to reintroduce ourselves!

We’re 1220 Exhibits, a team of passionate creators, innovators, and problem-solvers dedicated to bringing stories to life. From designing immersive museum exhibits to building engaging corporate and cultural experiences, we specialize in crafting unforgettable moments that connect people to ideas, history and each other.

1220 Exhibits was founded by two award-winning advertisers and creatives, Jerry Carden and John Cherry in 1972. When they were looking for a fabricator to build a three-dimensional marketing piece for one of their clients, their search turned unsuccessful. They turned to their own talented staff for a solution. The project was an unqualified success and launched an ongoing collaboration between designers and craftsmen thereafter referred to as “The Bunch over at 1220.”

1220’s Talents in Exhibit Fabrication

You might be asking “what exactly is it that 1220 does?”. The answer is simple: we fabricate exhibits and environments, bringing culture and history to life. We are headquartered in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee where our offices and shop reside. Equipped with 100,000 square feet of exhibit fabrication and production space, which is directly connected to our offices and storage, we have the ability and the know-how to bring your most inventive ideas to fruition. Bringing a project to life requires countless moving parts and a wealth of expertise. That’s why we’ve established a wide range of in-house departments under one roof. Our on-site teams include scenic, technical, estimating, graphics, metalworking, woodworking, AV, interactives, paint, CNC, artifacts, and project management.

We love what we do because our work combines creativity, craftsmanship, and collaboration. Every project is an opportunity to push boundaries and deliver excellence. We never do the same thing twice and every day is different, bringing new opportunities and new learning experiences.
