In an ongoing collaboration spanning over 30 exhibits, 1220 Exhibits has partnered extensively with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to deliver a range of creative solutions, including design development, fabrication, installation, and exterior signage. Our relationship with the museum has evolved over many years, supporting a variety of dynamic projects that help bring the story of country music to life for millions of visitors. From artifact casework to large-scale interactives, 1220’s work consistently reflects the museum’s mission to honor and preserve the evolving legacy of country music.
Among our most recent projects, 1220 provided comprehensive services for the newly renovated Youth and Contemporary Gallery, delivering over 6,300 square feet of exhibits that chronicle today’s country music landscape. Positioned at the culmination of the museum’s permanent timeline, these displays blend journalism-style storytelling with hands-on interactives, including a 40-foot walk-through guitar and a 12-foot record player. The gallery’s innovative audiovisual program—with 34 touchscreens, two projection systems, and a range of physical interactives—guides visitors on a journey to become “Certified Country” through activities in songwriting, studio recording, and design.
1220 also played a critical role in the design and fabrication of Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City, a two-year exhibition exploring the transformative impact of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Nashville’s famed session musicians. The project included custom- built listening booths, immersive theater spaces, artifact mount fabrication, and AV system redesign. Across all of our work at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, 1220 remains committed to delivering highly crafted, technically complex experiences that honor the rich history and future of country music.
