In the summer of 2016, the Pro Football Hall of Fame organized and served as the inaugural venue for a traveling exhibition: The Hunt/ Casterline Pro Football Hall of Fame Card Collection. Showcasing selections from a collection of over 300,000 cards—the most valuable football card collection in the world—the exhibition offers visitors the rare opportunity to view complete collections while learning about the history of collecting and the intricacies of card grading. Highlights include a rare 1965 Joe Namath rookie card, the complete 1957 Topps Card Set, and even football trading cards from the 1880s.
Custom-designed display cases were created to present both sides of the cards as if they are floating, without visible supports, allowing viewers to fully appreciate the intricate details of each unique card. Double-sided graphics bookend each display, contextualizing the cards in history and highlighting key aspects of each set. Designed for easy and secure transport, this exhibition began touring a variety of venues in 2017.
