1220 Exhibits adds former Exhibitions Director to Management team

Nashville firm 1220 Exhibits, a museum exhibit fabrication company, has hired Ray Leo as one of their Senior Project Managers. Leo comes to 1220 after nearly 28 years at Chicago’s Field Museum serving 15 years as the Exhibition Production and Maintenance Director. Major accomplishments at the Field Museum include A T-Rex Named SUE, a 3,000 sq. ft. exhibition of a completed and installed fossil skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, Evolving Planet, a 21,000 sq. ft. exhibition on the evolution of four billion years of life on Earth fabricated in part by 1220 Exhibits and The Ancient Americas, a 14,000 sq. ft. exhibition exploring the ancient civilizations of the Americas. Ray’s extensive experience in the museum industry includes implementing exhibitions with duties of content brainstorming, design direction, scheduling and budgeting of each project, and supervising construction and installation of projects.
“This is a huge win for our company. It allows us to take a different perspective concerning interaction with clients and we can see what the client experiences when working with vendors,” said Senior Vice President Craig Dunn.
1220 has also recently hired Christina Hale as a Museum Services Account Manager who previously worked at the Adventure Science Center. Also coming with the experience of the client’s perspective, Christina is well equipped to lead the development of exhibitions. Christina completed her Master’s degree at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom as well as an internship with the Manchester Art Gallery giving her experience with art handling and preservation.
1220 Exhibits recently finished fabrication of exhibit elements at the Gateway to the Blues Museum and has completed work at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History.
